Fahd Ahmed

CEO, Director and Co-Founder

Fahd is an investment industry executive with over 15 years’ experience in the hedge fund sector. Before founding Iguana, he spent nearly a decade at Majedie Asset Management coordinating operations across multiple funds, following earlier experience at Black Ant Investment Management. At Iguana he oversees risk management, operational infrastructure, and the firm’s overall operations.

Fahd is an experienced investment industry executive with over 15 years of expertise in the hedge fund sector. Prior to founding Iguana, he spent nearly a decade at Majedie Asset Management, where he coordinated operations across multiple funds, focusing primarily on the Tortoise long/short equity strategy. His career began at Black Ant Investment Management, a multi-asset long/short fund where he developed a thorough grounding in complex hedge fund structures.

Before launching Iguana, Fahd spent time in the US pursuing advanced studies in Python, Data Visualisation, and AI— technical capabilities he has since brought back to the firm and woven into Iguana’s systems and operational architecture. At Iguana, Fahd oversees risk management, operational infrastructure, and the broader running of the business, delivering institutional-grade infrastructure via a curated network of industry specialists and providers.

Fahd is a CFA Charterholder and holds both the Investment Operations Certificate (IOC) and the Investment Management Certificate (IMC).

Chris Reid

CIO, Director and Co-Founder

Chris is a founder of Iguana with over 20 years of capital markets experience. Before launching the firm, he spent nearly a decade as an analyst and fund manager at Majedie Asset Management, where he founded and managed the Majedie UK Income Strategy and co-managed several other funds. Earlier in his career, he was a top-ranked sell-side analyst at CSFB and Deutsche Bank.

Chris is a Founder of Iguana and brings over 20 years of capital markets experience across leading financial institutions. Prior to founding the firm, Chris spent almost a decade as an analyst and fund manager at Majedie Asset Management. He founded and managed the Majedie UK Income Strategy and Fund from its inception in December 2011 until June 2018, successfully growing its assets under management from a GBP 1 million seed to GBP 1.2 billion.

Under his leadership, the fund generated a total return of 140% (14.4% CAGR) and delivered +52% relative outperformance. He also served as a co-manager on the Majedie UK Focus Fund (2012–2018) and on the Majedie Tortoise Fund (2008–2011). Before moving to the buy-side, Chris spent eight years as a top-ranked sell-side analyst at CSFB and Deutsche Bank. Covering European Airlines and Transport/Leisure, he won numerous industry awards for his stock-picking. His career in the 'City' was preceded by five years at PA Consulting Group, where he worked globally on corporate performance improvement.

This diverse background drives his passion for understanding the fundamental mechanics of a business—looking “under the bonnet” to deliver strong, consistent investment results for his clients.

Chris holds an MA in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge, an MBA from London Business School, and a Master of Finance from the University of Cambridge.

Thameema Hamza

Analyst and Co-Founder

Thameema is an Equity Analyst at Iguana with more than 10 years’ experience in equity research. Prior to joining the firm in 2019, she covered European consumer sectors at ING through Moody’s Analytics and previously worked at Capital Alliance in Sri Lanka.

Thameema brings over a decade of sell-side research experience to her role as an Equity Analyst at Iguana. Prior to joining the firm in the summer of 2019, she built deep sector expertise covering European Beverages, Food, and Retail for ING through Moody’s Analytics. She also tracked the Textile, Manufacturing, and Diversified sectors during her tenure at Capital Alliance in Sri Lanka.

At Iguana, Thameema is responsible for conducting rigorous investment research and aiding the firm in integrating quantitative findings into the stock selection process. She brings a sharp, valuation-driven approach to portfolio analysis and is particularly passionate about ESG and consumer equities.

Thameema holds a Master of Finance with Distinction from the University of Cambridge, a BA in Business Management from Northumbria University, and is an Associate Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA).

Wilton Fry

Analyst, CFO and Co-Founder

Wilton has more than 20 years of experience as a sell-side analyst covering the Telecoms and Media sectors. During his career he held senior research positions at Royal Bank of Canada, Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Credit Suisse First Boston.

Wilton is a highly regarded investment professional with over 20 years of experience as a top-ranked sell-side analyst covering the Telecoms and Media sectors. Widely recognized as a “go-to” analyst in several specialist areas—most notably the global satellite sector—he employs an investment approach that is often contrarian but strictly grounded in fundamentals.

His deep analytical perspective is informed by two decades in the markets, including two years on the Bank of America Merrill Lynch Special Situations desk.

Throughout his career, Wilton has made a number of high-profile, prescient market calls. Notable highlights include an ultra-bearish thesis on SES and Eutelsat, publishing the Street’s first note on Intelsat’s spectrum value (which preceded a 10x share price move), and an anti-consensus downgrade of Vodafone ahead of its dividend cut in March 2019.

Prior to his current role, Wilton held senior research positions at the Royal Bank of Canada (2016–2019), Bank of America Merrill Lynch (2003–2015), and Credit Suisse First Boston (1999–2003). He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG and holds a BA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Reading.
